Only Hope

The lone star emits a dim light,
Amongst the endless blue,
The moon has lost her beauty,
And had gone to weep at the lagoon,
The cloud disappeared,
The sun refused to rise,
All our hopes pinned,
on that one star that held the sky.
Atlas gave up,
Mountains crumbled away,
Enyo wept a thousand tears,
Rivers flooded, temples fell,
Not one hero brave enough,
None but that lone star.

Calliope the beautiful-voiced
Clio the glorious one
Erato the amorous one
Euterpe the well-pleasing
Melpomene the chanting one
Polyhymnia the singer of many hymns
Terpsichore the one who delights in dance
Thalia the blossoming one
Urania the celestial one
